The Essentials That Should Be in Every Good Yogi’s Bag

Yoga calls on your mind and body, but getting equipped well can only have beneficial effects on your training that will be all the more effective and safe. Read on to find out what you should always bring to your yoga session.

The Yoga Mat

If you plan to exercise regularly, it would be a good idea to invest in a quality yoga mat that will last you a long time.

  • Inexpensive mats have a knack for crumbling quickly, while a good yoga mat will be light, well made, and soft on your skin.
  • Color and branding is at your sole discretion; just don’t forget to clean it after each use!

Here is an essential article for those who practice power yoga or hot yoga, one session of which tends to make us sweat profusely. Of course, this process is natural and beneficial, as it helps in the elimination of toxins and stimulates blood circulation.

  • This makes essential the need to bring an absorbent layer during a course. It is therefore worth investing in a quality carpet towel.

Never forget your water bottle in your class.

  • We recommend avoiding plastic bottles and opting for something more permanent that you can wash between sessions.
  • Find yourself a metal water bottle with a screw-on lid to keep your water cool and well sealed.

Hair Ties and Headbands

For those with long hair, accessories (or the lack thereof) will make all the difference in your session.

  • Many types of yoga include upside down positions that require a lot of effort and contortions to maintain balance.
  • The last thing you want right now is to put up with your annoying little quilt falling in your face and distracting you.

Wet Scented Wipes

A small packet of wet wipes is a great idea when doing yoga.

  • Use them to quickly and thoroughly clean both sides of your mat between each session.
  • You can even give your carpet a nice fresh smell by opting for scented wipes.

Lip Balm

As you will sweat and lose a lot of fluid during your yoga session, it is recommended that you always have lip balm on you to apply before and after class.

  • This will prevent chapped lips and keep a feeling of freshness.

If you are taking yoga classes then it might be a good idea to get a roomy bag to carry your mat and towel in addition to your wipes, hair accessories, water bottle, and lip balm. Also, don’t forget to keep some space for your keys, wallet, and phone … and above all, a padlock to keep them safe!
